Why is New York City such a popular tourist attraction? Certainly one reason is it’s deep roots in history during the American Revolutionary War, but most people flock to this great city to get an eyeful of the Big Apples’ greatest attribute: Skyscrapers. New York City is the second largest city with the most completed skyline in the world, which makes for very impressive, and overwhelming, tourists attractions. Here are just a few of the most iconic buildings to see. The people who visit the Empire State Building get to temporarily be in a different zip code, as the building has its own (10118). Since this is such a popular tourist site, you can run into all kinds of celebrities coming to see the sights, like Ashanti or Heidi Klum. The Flatiron Building: One of the most visually recognizable buildings in North America, this building resembles a clothing iron from above in the middle of Manhattan. Built in 1902, it is the tallest triangular shaped building in the world, being that it is wedged in the space between Fifth Avenue, Broadway, East 22nd and 23rd Street.
